Thinking of ACE? We Can Do It with Fewer Tokens
ACE and ALTK-Evolve are both memory systems that allow agents to learn from their experiences, but they differ in how they organize and deliver lessons. ACE stores lessons in a comprehensive, evolving playbook, while ALTK-Evolve consolidates them into individually retrievable guidelines. ACE uses significantly fewer tokens than ALTK-Evolve due to its full playbook delivery, which impacts inference cost and accuracy. On the AppWorld benchmark, ACE uses about 40% of the inference cost of ALTK-Evolve, demonstrating its efficiency in accuracy and cost savings.
