Building a 100x Cheaper Trace Judge with Fireworks
LangChain Labs partnered with Fireworks to develop a Trace Judge using the Qwen model, achieving high performance at lower cost. The model demonstrated strong generalization across datasets, with fine-tuned versions outperforming frontier models. Future work aims to enhance continual learning and create specialized models for trace understanding, while open models have become cost-effective classifiers.
