OpenAI has committed to investing $750 billion in infrastructure through 2030, with a focus on building a $20 billion data center in Georgia, expected to begin supplying electricity in 2028. The data center will draw power from Georgia Power, which will provide at least 3.2 gigawatts of energy, with the capacity becoming available between 2028 and 2032. The project will involve a 50% property tax abatement for 15 years, and OpenAI will cover the full cost of the infrastructure and electric-service costs.
