AMD commits up to $5 billion to Anthropic
AMD has pledged up to $5 billion to Anthropic, a major AI company, to enhance its computing infrastructure. Anthropic will deploy up to 2 gigawatts of AMD’s AI GPUs, including the Instinct MI450 model, using the Helios rack-scale system, with the first gigawatt set to be deployed in the first half of 2027. The partnership includes agreements with Google, Broadcom, and Amazon, and there are rumors of a potential deal with Meta.
