Introducing Real World VoiceEQ: Measuring the human quality of voice AI

Real World VoiceEQ is a new benchmark that evaluates the human quality of voice AI, focusing on aspects like tone, emotion, and speaker identity. It uses over 1 million human ratings and assesses 40 leading voice models across 15+ dimensions and 60 metrics, including ASR, TTS, and S2S. The benchmark highlights the lack of a single "best" voice model and the challenges in accurately capturing paralinguistic cues like tone and pacing. It emphasizes the need for a human-grounded metric to evaluate synthetic voice interactions.
