
Global Laser Enrichment (GLE) is developing a new technology to reprocess uranium waste, aiming to produce 0.7% U-235 feedstock for nuclear fuel, with plans to begin processing at the Paducah facility in 2030. The method uses laser technology to selectively enrich uranium, offering a more efficient and cost-effective alternative to traditional methods, and addresses supply gaps and price volatility in the uranium market. The technology is still in early development, with the final safety evaluation and approval expected in 2027.
