xAI sues a man for using Grok to generate CSAM ‘deepfakes’
xAI, owned by Elon Musk, is suing Terry Wayne Harwood for using its Grok AI chatbot to generate child sexual abuse material, alleging he violated the company’s policies by bypassing safeguards. Harwood is facing eight felony charges, and xAI seeks legal damages and a court order to prevent him from using Grok. The lawsuit follows a prior case against xAI by a group of teens, and xAI claims the incident exposed it to legal and reputational risks.
