Claude will apply invisible watermarks to AI text and images
Anthropic is adding invisible watermarks to AI-generated text and images to comply with the EU’s AI Act, using C2PA metadata for images and lighter text watermarks to preserve content integrity. The changes, part of a four-month compliance period, will mark new Claude models and continue to support existing ones, with the system being imperceptible and persistent through copying and editing. The initiative aims to help platforms identify AI-generated content, though challenges remain in detection accuracy and metadata stripping.
